or portacath.
The care and safety of the central line or port is crucial in the treatment of these young patients. Through a unique design, the wrap hides the tubes from the child. By helping prevent the child from playing with or tampering with the line, breaks can be minimized and additional central line surgeries may be avoided. It also keeps the lines away from the diaper area, the GI-button or colonoscopy bags.
The wrap is a soft, comfortable garment, which doesn't irritate the skin. The design provides comfort to the child
by supporting the line which eases stress on the skin where the tube is surgically implanted. Additionally, this wrap provides cushioning against the hard clamps and lumens ensuring improved patient comfort. Nurses and caregivers alike will find Summer’s Lifeguard provides easy access to the catheter lumens for administration of medicine and the color-coded tabs on the wrap match the lumens of the catheter for easy identification.
